Lexington Project

“The long lost left sock of the Universe“

Every couple of years I come across a project that is so inspiring it lays out the whole universe before me. In July 2015, the Lexington Tattoo Project did just that!

The Lexington Tattoo Project was presented at the Community Development Society 2015 conference in Lexington Kentucky. Created by artists Kurt Gohde and Kremena Todorova, and based on a love poem to the city of Lexington by Bianca Spriggs, 253 people came together to express love for their hometown with tattoos of the poem. Other communities have since followed suite.

I can’t imagine having a tattoo… I don’t even have pierced ears!

This has to be the most dedicated expression of community belonging I have ever come across.
